    EXPLORING ARCHITECTONICS OF AFFINE FORM
A  proposal for the Rijeka Workshop within the GEFFA project, supported by DAAD.

This workshop is intended to be completed in 3 hours:

30 minutes of introduction related to affine transformations in general,
120 minutes of explorative activity focused on an affine form - the spatial form created from a simple cubic elemet transformed by two sets of affine transformations (using the Affine Transformations Applet),
30 minutes of a discussion and showcasing the workshop outcomes.

The final result is a virtual gallery of selected visualisations of affine form, demonstrating an architectural potential of affine form.

    • Applet

      http://www.arh.bg.ac.rs/upload/applets/daft/index.html

An explorative tool available online, has been exclusively developed with aim to help understanding the nature of affine transformations related to creation of spatial form, as well as to support a creative process that might continue on other CAAD platforms.

      • An explorative dialogue

In this part of the workshop participants are expected to produce series of visualisations, exploring architectonics of selected affine form, and to share them within the following discussion forum:.

      • GALLERY of the Workshop results

      • Further Explorations

This is the post-workshop part aimed at exchanging possible further results and findings i exploration of affine form, be it:

        • by creating it using the given applet
        • by using other applications for creation of affine form
        • by producing analogue models (traditional or printed)
        • by applying the concept or recognizing it in a real-world architectural design
