M. Devetaković: Incorporating waterfront development issues in the Knowledge Base of the Project TR36035
After briefly describing the aim and purpose of the Knowledge Base of the Project TR36035, as well as the basic knowledge structure within it, this presentation proposed a way that the waterfront issues could be incorporated. The issues of waterfront development are firstly identified as part of adaptation, resilience and vulnerability segments within the cathegory of knowledge on climate change. Than a set of related tags has been proposed, including the keywords that firstly identify waterfront, riverfront and beachfront, describes ermine major influences of climate change on waterfronts, such as searise, floods, extreme climate events, hurricanes and storms, and finally list some solutions as flood walls, dikes, wet and dry flood proofing, etc. Applying such knowledge structure, a couple oin resources have been included in the Knowledge Base, mainly as external knowledge, i.e. the knowledge produced out of the Project TR36035. As the most illustrative example the publication Urban Waterfront Adaptive Strategies, NYC, has been highlighted.
